About the role: This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Accountant to join Lockheed Martin UK Strategic Systems in Helensburgh, Scotland. Lockheed Martin are one of the world’s largest defence companies and working here will give you the opportunity to work on interesting programmes that support national security. Key Information: Helensburgh, Scotland (some travel to various UK locations) 9 day fortnight 37.5 hrs a week Permanent Your Responsibilities: Compile and review budgets, ensuring alignment with financial data and performance metrics. Coordinate cost analyses, manage cost control systems, and prepare detailed financial reports. Ensure compliance with cost allocation procedures and corporate policies. Support long-term and short-term financial planning and formal reporting. Analyze financial information, prepare monthly/quarterly reports, and conduct labour and spend analysis. Monitor programme expenditures, track Earned Value Management (EVM) performance, and highlight trends to the team. Collaborate with Commercial, Contract, and financial management to ensure process compliance. Manage month-end reporting tasks, including journals, accruals, and revenue recognition. Assist with invoicing, monthly cost certificates, and customer billing. Conduct risk and opportunity analysis to support project success. Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience in a Project Accounting role. Part or qualified in CIMA, ACCA, ACA (or equivalent) plus industry experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interaction at a senior management level. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel modelling. Desired Skills: Knowledge of Enterprise Application Software (SAP preferred). Previous Financial and/or business management experience in large-scale development/MOD programs. Experience in Project Management. Critical thinking and cost management principles application. Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills.
