Overview
ProblemShared is looking for a highly motivated Head of Communications who will focus on all aspects of our communication both internal and external to drive our business growth. This is a new role within our fully remote business and will play a critical part in shaping and delivering our communications strategy. They will come in and audit our communication channels, develop and execute internal and external communication campaigns. They will ensure our messaging aligns with our purpose to continually evolve and advance the provision of mind health and neurodevelopmental care, treatment and support. They will deliver on the organisation’s strategic objectives, enhancing our public image, strengthening relationships with stakeholders including employees, customers, partners, media and the public.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned communications expert, who wants to work in a high-performance team at a scaling health technology company. They will have extensive experience in corporate communications, crisis management, brand positioning, healthcare content and messaging. This position demands a dynamic, strategic thinker with exceptional writing, speaking and interpersonal skills. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive the efficiency and effectiveness of communication. This role reports into the Chief Marketing Officer.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Communications: Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to drive brand awareness, engagement and trust.
2. Content Development: Oversee the creation of high-quality content, including press releases, thought leadership articles, blog posts and social media campaigns.
3. Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure positive coverage.
4. Internal Communication: Ensure clear, consistent messaging across internal channels to keep teams informed and aligned with company goals and information. Audit all communication channels to ensure a simple and cohesive approach to internal communication.
5. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical product and marketing teams to align communication objectives.
6. Crisis Communication: Lead crisis communication planning and response, ensuring transparency and brand protection during challenging situations.
7. Performance Analytics: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies, adjusting tactics as needed.
8. Patient-centric communication: Develop and advise on best practice communication to build trust with patients/clients.
9. Accessible/Inclusive communication: Clear understanding of the nuances of communication to a neurodivergent audience.
10. Healthcare provider engagement: Create targeted communication campaigns to attract and retain great talent. Embrace new ways of communicating focusing on innovation and continuous improvement to keep us ahead of the curve.
11. Brand and reputation management: Position the business as a trusted, innovative leader in telehealth, managing public relation campaigns to highlight success stories, partnerships and innovations.
12. Digital and social media strategy: Use digital platforms to reach partners and clients effectively. Monitoring the feedback and trends to refine communication strategies.
Qualifications:
Experience:
1. 6+ years of comprehensive communications experience, either in a PR agency or an in-house communications team. Previous experience in a high-performing organisation within the telehealth, healthcare or related sector preferred.
2. History of working in a fully remote business and driving communication within this environment.
3. Bachelor's or master's degree.
Skills:
1. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; strong storytelling and content development abilities.
2. Data driven mind set and a proven-track record of developing and executing internal and external communication strategies that have generated positive ROI in the UK.
3. Strong understanding of the UK media landscape and established relationships with key health media.
4. Skilled at originating, project managing, and delivering complex and proactive press projects ranging from research/data driven stories and campaigns to press and engagement events.
5. Adept at collaborating with multi-functional teams in a matrix organisation.
6. Confident in leading meetings with external partners, senior stakeholders and media contacts.
7. Proficient in agency management, including briefing, coordinating and evaluating external PR agencies to ensure delivery of impactful results.
8. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting flexibly to change.
9. Strong skills in being able to handle sensitive situations and ensuring transparency.
10. Prior healthcare knowledge and understanding of mental health and neurodevelopmental medical terminology.
11. Awareness of legal and ethical considerations in communication.
12. Proficiency with digital communication tools, social media and analytics tools.
13. Strong organisational and time management skills.
14. Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
