Role Description
This is a flexible full-time on-site role for a Management Accountant located in Manchester. The Management Accountant will be responsible for preparing and analysing financial statements, managing accruals, conducting financial analysis, and supporting the finance team. Day-to-day tasks include preparing budgets, forecasting financial performance, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The role involves working closely with various departments to provide financial insights and recommendations.
Main Responsibilities:
* Preparation and analysis of accurate monthly management accounts, ensuring adherence to set deadlines.
* Performing balance sheet reconciliations, including investigation and resolution of discrepancies.
* Preparation and management of accruals and prepayments.
* Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts by liaising closely with key stakeholders.
* Supporting and contributing to financial reporting requirements for the parent company.
* Analysing company financial performance and providing insightful recommendations.
* Management and monitoring of cash flow.
* Quarterly preparation and submission of VAT returns.
* Providing support for the annual financial audit.
* Ensuring financial administration and participating in internal audits.
* Involvement in financial projects, system improvements, and process enhancements.
* Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
Qualifications
* Experience in preparing Financial Statements and managing Accruals.
* Strong Analytical Skills and experience in Finance.
* Proficiency in Accounting practices and principles.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
* Experience with financial software and tools.
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (not essential).
* Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or CIMA is highly desirable.
Additional Skills:
* Previous experience supervising is advantageous.
* Demonstrated experience in process improvements and financial system enhancements preferred.
