Qualifications
There are a number of ways you can become a building information manager, as a minimum you will need 4 or more GCSEs grades A-C (9-4) and a minimum of 2 A Levels or BTEC equivalent.
Level 3
You can study a BTEC Subsidiary or Extended Diploma in Construction & the Built Environment or Civil Engineering; or an Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship in Built Environment Design or Civil Engineering.
Level 4, 5 & 6
You can study a HNC, HND, Higher Apprenticeship or Degree in Construction and the Built Environment, Civil Engineering or Surveying etc.
Salary
Newly trained BIM managers can earn £30,000 - £35,000
Trained BIM managers with some experience can earn £35,000 - £55,000
Senior BIM managers can earn £55,000 - £90,000
Salaries typically range depending on location, level of responsibility and chartered status.
