Your new role
As Financial Accountant, you will report directly to the Financial Controller and have responsibility for the management and development of a small team of 3 accounts staff, along with overall responsibility for maintaining accurate accounting records for the preparation and reporting of the monthly accounts.
Responsibilities & Duties:
1. Management and development of 3 direct reports.
2. Preparation and processing of journals at month end.
3. Variance analysis & investigation.
4. Responsibility for the month-end and year-end processing (on the ERP software).
5. Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
6. Assist in the preparation of budgets and monthly review.
7. Technical and Tax compliance, ensuring the company complies with all the necessary accounting technical standards, including responsibility for VAT across the company, and the submission of VAT returns.
8. Preparation of grant applications and claims and responsibility for external grant audits.
9. Deal with the statutory audit, prepare the internal audit file and interact with external auditors.
10. Responsibility for calculation of our annual insurance policy renewals, liaising with our insurance brokers to provide information as necessary.
11. Development of the finance modules of the ERP system.
12. Critically review and improve internal controls.
13. Liaise with external stakeholders as required.
14. Undertaking and managing various finance related projects.
What you'll need to succeed
CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified Accountant OR qualified by experience with experience of budget preparation and processing of month-end accounts and product costings. It is advantageous to have a proven ability and experience in project management and delivery. Previous experience in a Financial Accountant or Management Accountant role with knowledge of VAT, Audit and people management within a manufacturing environment.
