Rotational Clinical Pharmacist - Band 6 to 7 - Full-time + EDC
We are currently seeking a Band 6 clinical rotational pharmacist to join our dynamic and well-motivated team.
As a rotational pharmacist, you'll work across several different rotations:
* Elderly Care
* Stroke
* Surgery
* Specialist Medicine (Respiratory, Gastro, Cardiology, Renal, Endocrine)
* Acute medicine (AMU, ED)
* Medicines information
* Technical services/aseptics
* Paediatrics and Maternity
* GP/ICN rotation
Each rotation has been designed to develop your clinical and personal skills to help prepare you for your next role as a specialist clinical pharmacist. The rotations are structured in line with the JPB core areas of Clinical, Technical and Patient Services and Medicines Information. This will provide you with the knowledge and experience required to be well rounded and capable pharmacist.
The role gives you the opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team where you can provide support for service development through projects, audits and education. You will be able learn from specialist pharmacists in each rotation to improve your knowledge and allowing you to attain the required skills for your personal development.
You will be involved in the education and training of Brighton Undergraduates and vocational students, thus giving you the opportunity to experience leading supervision and management with the aim of developing these skills to help you grow in your pharmacy career.

Main duties of the job
A typical day as a Band 6 Pharmacist includes a full range of clinical and operational tasks, from completing drug histories and medicines reconciliations to counselling and processing discharge prescriptions on the wards. You will be given the autonomy to balance your time between these tasks and other responsibilities, such as working objectives and project work (audits etc). The majority of your day will be spent on clinical commitments, as our dispensary is technician led. You will be provided with a strong and structured support system to focus your learning and development within each rotation.
Working closely with a large multidisciplinary team (consultants, nurses, physiotherapists, discharge team members, etc.), you will provide safe and effective patient care through ward rounds, huddles, and MDT meetings. You will also have opportunities to develop leadership skills, and interpersonal skills (e.g. providing feedback, appraisal techniques, professionalism, assertiveness, communication etc.) through teaching tutorials for trainee pharmacists, nurses, and medical students. You will also be involved in the education and training of undergraduate pharmacy students as well as medical students.
You will be part of a rotating role that involves both on-site and cross-sector work, including providing pharmacy services to local GP practices and virtual wards within the Integrated Care Network team.

Shift patterns:
* 37.5 hours per week, from 9:00 AM to 5:15 PM, with a 45-minute lunch break and a 15-minute tea break.
* Weekend working (Saturday 1 in 6 weeks, Sunday 1 in 10 weeks)
* Late duty (usually 1 hr - 1 in 12 weeks).
* On call (1 in 14 weeks) based at home.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
* Degree in Pharmacy
* Member of General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhc)
* Commitment to CPD
Desirable
* Graduate with some hospital experience. [TP = 2, anything less = 1]
* Experience of working as a registered pharmacist, in any sector
EXPERIENCE
