We have vacancies for Children's Night Care Workers in our children’s home in South Reddish, Stockport to be part of our experienced team. You will work in a caring home environment with the wider team under the leadership of the Registered Manager, nurturing, and supporting the young people providing them with all the care, love and support they would receive as if it was their family home.
Location: South Reddish, Stockport
The role of a Night Care Worker is to work alone overnight with the support from a colleague (in an emergency) who will sleep-in. Each shift is 10 hours in duration (10pm – 8am), and we have 7 shifts to fill. We can recruit in the following ways:
2 x 10-hour shifts (2 vacancies) per week with a salary of £12,490.40
3 x 10-hour shifts (1 vacancy) per week with a salary of £18,729.60
(Both above salaries are pro-rated at 30 and 20 hours for the FTE of 37.5 hours of £23,412 (£12.01))
Salary enhancement of 25% uplift on hourly rate for weekend shifts (£15.01ph).
Hour worked between 11pm and 6am will also be paid at the 25% premium rate of £15.01ph
Shifts will be worked flexibly throughout the week (including weekends) on a rotational basis. You must be willing to work unsociable hours during the night, following the agreed shift pattern, and to cover annual leave and sickness when necessary.
About the position
The core tasks will include attending to the needs of the young people during the night, some of which have complex health conditions, domestic duties and appropriate record keeping.
You will be expected to attend staff meetings, supervision, and annual appraisals. As well as attending the Trust’s training courses and those provided in-house, together with a willingness to undertake an appropriate level Ofsted programme, including working the occasional day shifts to gather the relevant evidence to support the qualification.
You will also:
* Respect and promote the needs of each child, young person and adult arising from their racial, cultural and religious background.
* Maintain appropriate records on the child, young person and adult and ensure that information is passed onto other members of the team.
* Administer medication and simple medical procedures for the young people as appropriate, and a willingness to undertake training if required.
* Take responsibility for the security and maintenance of the service during the night,

Are you educated to GCSE level with flexibility, commitment and motivation? We are seeking individuals who have previous experience of working with young disabled people along with experience of recording information and working on your own initiative and as part of a team.
