Location: Birmingham or Manchester The role: Our Corporate & International team led by Guy Kendall work across a broad range of clients in all sectors and on various projects, including tax compliance. Due to the continued growth of the firm and our growing service line, we are looking for Senior Associates, Assistant Managers, Managers and Senior Managers experienced in corporate tax compliance to join us across our national offices. We appreciate experience will vary depending on the grade you apply for, but regardless of this you will be supported by Guy and the wider Claritas team. However, we would be looking for someone with the following background and experience: Minimum of two years’ experience (Senior Associates), three years’ experience (Assistant Manager), four years’ experience (Manager) or six years’ experience (Senior Manager) in a tax role with a high level of exposure to corporate tax compliance and tax accounting. ATT/CTA and / or ACA qualified (preferred although not essential). Experience of dealing directly with clients and intermediaries. A good working knowledge/ experience of the key relevant areas of tax involved in tax compliance and tax accounting including (but not limited to): Tax treatment of exceptional items (e.g. deal fees, right of use assets, assets under construction) Treatment of accruals/provisions, including pension scheme adjustments Loss relief planning, including group relief Corporate interest restriction calculations Controlled foreign company returns Corporate and deferred tax workings/disclosures, including consolidated We will consider experienced Senior Associates / Assistant Managers who may not have experience in all of the above areas. Alphatax experience is preferable, although not essential. Be proactive in identifying additional opportunities for other tax service lines. Strong project management and communication skills. Development of junior staff members including new graduates. Whilst this role is predominantly tax compliance focused, there will be opportunities to get involved in tax advisory work related to these tax compliance clients. These roles are preferably full-time, but we will consider part-time / flexible working arrangements.
