IT Technician - £32,000/£35,000 per annum - Brough Principal IT are working with a leading UK food producer that are looking for an IT technician to join their enterprise team. In this role you will play a vital part in supporting their future strategy. They are looking for someone who is passionate about continuous professional development and has an innovative approach to incorporating new technologies into their operations. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the forward-thinking IT team, undertaking certified and on premise training covering numerous systems and software. As an IT Technician in the enterprise team you will serve as a critical escalation point for local IT teams, handling complex technical issues that require advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. This role ensures that sophisticated IT problems are resolved efficiently, maintaining high standards of service delivery and user satisfaction. When necessary, the technician collaborates with the senior members of the enterprise team for third-line support to address particularly challenging issues. Key Responsibilities: Act as the primary escalation point for local IT teams, addressing complex technical issues that go beyond standard troubleshooting. Provide advanced support for a range of IT systems, including Windows PCs/laptops, servers, networks, mobiles, and tablets. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve intricate hardware and software problems, ensuring minimal disruption to end users. Collaborate with other members of the enterprise support team for third-line support on particularly challenging problems, ensuring timely and effective resolution. Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and implement preventative measures. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all support activities, solutions, and best practices. Monitor and manage the enterprise support ticket queue, prioritizing and resolving issues in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies, procedures, and best practices. Provide guidance and mentorship to local IT teams, enhancing their technical capabilities and problem-solving skills. Participate in IT projects, providing expert input and support to ensure successful outcomes. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continually improve the support provided. Provide Level 2/3 support for IT infrastructure-related issues, ensuring timely resolution. Provide remote support to Hyper V virtualisation, Cisco switches and Fortinet firewall devicesRequirements: Proven experience in an IT support role, preferably at a service desk or similar environment. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a solution-driven mindset. Extensive knowledge of Windows workstation & server environments, networking & firewalls. Experience with server management, network troubleshooting, and advanced diagnostics. Familiarity with ITIL or similar service management frameworks. Experience supporting Windows Server environments using Hyper-V virtualization, Cisco switched and Fortinet firewall devices.The Package: If successful our client is offering a salary between £32,000 - £35,000 per annum, favourable holiday allowance, company contributed pension scheme.
