Leonardo Edinburgh are looking for Head of Manufacturing Quality.
In this role you will be pivotal to the success of delivery highly complex assemblies that meet and exceed customer expectations. Reporting into the Head of Quality for the Edinburgh facility.
The role will be based at Edinburgh and support our manufacturing teams both within the operations and quality.
How you will do it
* Leader of a manufacturing area quality management team, responsible for effective leadership, planning and communication of objectives
* Supporting the Head of Quality, Head of Manufacturing Engineering (inc. Ops leadership) and Business Area leadership (Sector level Vice President)
* Leadership role, working closely between the Quality and Operations team
* Identify risks, threats and opportunities throughout the manufacturing process, working with the teams to find solutions and their implementation.
* Using a data based approach to identify trends, and opportunities for improvement
* Continue process standardisation across all areas
* Defect management including management plan for the continued reduction in the total cost of non-quality (TQNQ) utilising effective tools, techniques and reporting inc. a robust RCCA culture
* Understand supplier performance impact on manufacturing processes
* Ensure the provision of quality expertise and capability to the business area projects
* Personally coach, mentor and manage all direct reports (engineers and specialists) and act as a role model for appropriate behaviours
What we are looking for
what you really must have:
* Recognised as an expert in quality, operations, operations framework, manufacturing, leadership principles and business processes such as finances
* People management & leadership skills; including effective performance and change management skills (change agent)
* Expert in influencing and negotiating with others using facts, proposals, data and analysis to support line of reasoning
* Communicate quality at a leadership level in a non-technical influencing way
* Evidence of leadership of capability and process development within quality engineering and ability to implement change
* Success in mentoring and coaching in order to grow Quality excellence within the business
* Experienced in reducing TQNQ and implementation of a root cause and corrective action culture positively effecting business
