The Edge of Care Reunification Team is a new team which will start work in April 2025. The Edge of Care Reunification Team is based within the Clinical Practice Service and sits alongside and strengthens our existing Edge of Care offering. The team works alongside social workers in the wider service, providing expert support for practitioners and children and families. The Team will be supporting adolescent children who are in local authority care to safely reunify home, looking for creative, restorative and positive solutions for children and their families. ABOUT THE JOB Our clinical team is central to the development of a systemic social work model of practice. We are looking for Family Therapists who can use their specialist skills directly with children, families, social care practitioners and the wider community to enable change to happen. The role will sit under the Senior Family Therapist and work closely with the Edge of Care Reunification team. This is an opportunity to do more than just practice Systemic Therapy; it’s an opportunity to shape, develop and create new ways of practicing. The role will give you the chance to use your skills directly with families in a wide range of differing contexts. Part of the role will be to develop training packages to a variety of staff groups and be an active contributor in making Newham a Centre of excellence. For more information about the role please view JD here ABOUT YOU Candidates need to be registered by the UKCP or be eligible for registration within the next six months, as well as holding a qualification in social work. You will be able to balance imagination with rigour, see possibility of change in the most complex of contexts, and hold hope when others are struggling to do so. You should want to join a Local authority that is changing, one that will welcome your contribution to its developing practice model. You will be a skilled therapist with direct experience of working in children’s social Care. Be registered by the UKCP or be eligible for registration within the next six months as well as holding a qualification in social work. You have previous experience and an understanding of working within a diverse, urban community; and share our ambition and energy in embracing new ways of working including working relentlessly to keep children in their family networks when safe to do so.
