Job Description:
As an Apprentice Train Operator, you will be a valued member of the Manufacturing function and tasked with carrying out routine calibration of Special To Type Test Equipment (STTE) and Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) equipment.
Your Responsibilities Involve but are not limited to:
1. Working in a multi-discipline team to support the Operations team.
2. Initial calibration, routine calibration, and maintenance of test and measurement equipment.
3. Ensuring that both factory and proprietary test and measuring equipment is maintained in line with current procedures.
4. Carrying out calibration and repair tasks in accordance with departmental processes and procedures.
5. Generating clear and comprehensive calibration/maintenance records for traceability purposes.
Skillset/Experience Required:
The successful Electrical Calibration Operator will have the following skills and experience:
1. Ability to generate clear and comprehensive calibration & maintenance records.
2. Experience of calibrating COTS/Special to Type Test Equipment.
3. Experience of calibrating electrical equipment such as Power Supplies, Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, etc.
4. Experience of In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.
5. A good understanding of SAP would be desirable.
Qualifications:
1. Time served apprenticeship/modern apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3.
2. City & Guilds part 2 & 3/ONC/HNC in Electronics.
