We have an opening for a Lead Technologist to join a leading retailer for a 9 month FTC. The role covers all Homeware and electricals.
Key responsibilities include:
* Responsible for supporting the delivery of the Client’s Quality Strategy.
* Ensuring the workload of the Tech team is aligned to the achievement of the Technical / Quality KPI’s.
Team leadership and ways of working:
* Continuously looking at how to improve ways of working to ensure that the Technical team has a best in class reputation both internally and externally.
* Creating a common approach to addressing key business challenges.
* Creating an environment for the Technical team where colleagues feel included and engaged in strategy level discussions, with clear communication channels and regular touchpoints.
* Ensuring each colleague is clear in their role and the part they play in delivering the overall team strategy and KPI’s.
* Supporting personal growth by allowing everyone to develop their skills and capabilities.
* Coaching colleagues based on individual strengths, development needs, and aspirations.
* Managing a team of Technologists aligned to a division to ensure the right prioritisation and allocation of work based on business needs.
* Improving team performance and driving efficiency through active management of workload distribution.
* Ensuring adherence to the defined divisional Critical Path, addressing any issues or delays to minimize impact.
Technical responsibilities:
* Fulfil Technical responsibilities for a specific area or category.
* Management and maintenance of core block libraries.
* Fit Model management – reviewing costing, time slots, and models.
Conformance requirements:
* Dealing with all standard commercial approvals and identifying when escalation to the Technical Manager is required (e.g., major fails, cancellation requests, product recalls).
* Accountable for ensuring all products are compliant and managing departmental specific testing.
* Responsible for data management (test reports, fit logs, PLM, gold seals) as part of due diligence.
* Logging and managing Customer Complaints as required, including stakeholder management with Customer Services.
* Travel as required to visit supply bases (including the Far East) to address business needs.
* Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
* Effectively responding to challenges and delivering the best outcomes for the business.
* Attention to detail and a good knowledge of compliance regulations and product safety standards.
* Multi-product technical knowledge required, specifically in Homeware.
