Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCo, parents, and external professionals. Utilize innovative teaching methods and resources to support students with diverse learning styles and needs. Monitor and assess student progress, adapting strategies to ensure individual growth and success. Provide one-on-one and small group interventions to address specific learning goals, ensuring every student achieves their potential. Create a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages confidence, creativity, and independence. Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other staff members to deliver holistic support. Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns. Participate actively in staff training, meetings, and the wider school community to contribute to the school’s ethos and vision. Qualifications and Skills Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialization or significant experience in SEN education. Proven track record of teaching English, ideally to students with SEN in a secondary school or specialist setting. Strong understanding of SEN strategies, inclusive teaching practices, and behavior management techniques. Patience, empathy, and creativity, with the ability to adapt teaching to individual needs. Excellent organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
