Human Resources Change Partner
London/Leeds/Bristol/Glasgow – Hybrid
At Direct Line Group, insurance is just the start. Combining decades of industry experience with talented people in every field from data, technology, customer care and auto repair, to HR, finance, and procurement, we’re a customer-obsessed market powerhouse. And we all work together to be brilliant for customers, every single day.
We are looking for a HR Change Partner to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extending to 18 months. This role will form part of a dedicated, empowered, and flexible pool of HR professionals, providing guidance and expertise to deliver prioritised business and HR strategic change activity.
You will report into one of our lead change partners to support the delivery of change activities and projects across the group. You will work, where appropriate, in multidisciplinary teams/squads, utilising agile methodology, collaborating directly with the business and/or HR sponsors, serving as the HR expert to deliver change activities.
What you'll be doing
* Deliver prioritised short term and/or long-term change effectively by utilising broad and specialist HR knowledge and, where appropriate, drawing in COE and wider functional expertise.
* Engage and collaborate with sponsors to define outcomes and OKRs (if appropriate), explaining how the Change Hub will be working to shape, test, learn and implement designed solutions, with continued engagement and evaluation.
* Develop deep understanding of business area roadmaps and strategy to ensure the squad delivers the outcomes in a timely manner, with awareness of the wider change agenda through business engagement and lead syncs, foreseeing interdependencies, resource needs and necessary adaptation.
* Carry out research, stakeholder engagement activity, develop user stories and collate/analysis of data to understand change requirements from both the commercial and people perspective.
* Identify issues and form hypotheses aligned to the overarching people strategy, challenging, coaching, advising and proposing alternatives to deliver at pace.
* Facilitate workshops/discussions/deep dives to understand continuous improvement opportunities, adapting and improving our ways of working.
* Showcase work through appropriate deep dives for stakeholder engagement, sharing findings, current work, risks and recommendations to facilitate and deliver change, adapting where necessary and beneficial to optimise outcomes.
* Formulate implementation plans for viable solutions, ensuring necessary upskilling, planning and evaluation before handover to business/BAU.
* Establish and nurture successful relationships across HR utilising and engaging the relevant expertise where required and ensure any insights gathered through activity are shared and leveraged as appropriate.
* Identify, own and manage the risks involved in the various programmes and initiatives to ensure we deliver as promised.
What you'll need
* Experience in HR business partnering and owning and delivering change activities and programs of work offering guidance on best practice, including employment legislation.
* Strong stakeholder management, supporting the lead change partner to manage activities of work, creating strong relationships and effective dialogue to drive agreed outcomes.
* Ability to gather information, analyse and problem solve taking business needs, policy, legislation and best practice into account.
* Data analysis and reporting skills.
* Able to communicate across a variety of stakeholders escalating risk where appropriate.
* An understanding of (or willingness to learn) agile methodologies and their benefits.
* You will show curiosity and resourcefulness and be comfortable working within a fast-paced, focused environment.
