Rural Estate Manager – Private Estate

The Opportunity
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estate Surveyor / Manager to oversee the management of a prestigious, historic private estate in Surrey. This multi-faceted role involves managing a diverse property portfolio, including farmland, woodland, residential and commercial lets, as well as areas of common land and Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
The successful candidate will play a key role in optimising land and property use while ensuring long-term sustainability. This is a unique chance to join a long-established estate and contribute to its future growth and preservation.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and manage the estate’s let and in-hand property portfolios
* Engage with tenants, contractors, and third-party stakeholders
* Supervise maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment projects
* Identify and implement new income opportunities, including natural capital projects
* Manage lease renewals, rent reviews, and new lettings
* Prepare estate reports, budgets, and financial planning documents
* Oversee grant applications and compliance with land management regulations
* Review and manage contracts, insurance, and health & safety policies
Candidate Profile
* RICS qualification (or equivalent) with 3+ years’ PQE
* Strong organisational, negotiation, and financial management skills
* A self-starter with the ability to lead and motivate others
* Proficiency in estate management technology and reporting
* A full driving licence
