Welding Inspector/ Supervisor / Bury St Edmunds / FTC (10 months)- salary £60-65K per annum. Position 1 Recruitment are looking for Welding Inspector/ Supervisor to join our client, manufacturing site based in Bury St Edmunds. Our client is a leading producer for the food and beverage market, and due to the ongoing growth, they are looking for a Welding Inspector/ Supervisor to join their friendly engineering team. Welding Inspector/ Supervisor will have a detailed understanding of industrial mechanical plant and a track record of leading and delivering maintenance improvement programmes. Practical experience of large-scale manufacturing processes and their relative criticality, including an understanding of RCA, FMEA & reliability centred maintenance principles is essential. Key Accountabilities include: Act as the site subject matter expert for all mechanical maintenance tasks to enhance safety, reliability and production throughput in line with site objectives. Take responsibility for coordination and management of Statutory and Mandatory compliance topics. Specifically PSSR (pressure systems), LOLER (lifting equipment) and LEV (ventilation) equipment. Ensure the technical integrity of mechanical plant to ensure that product, process and systems meet specified requirements. Develop technical specifications to support the repair of non-routine mechanical breakdowns on site. Interpret business-wide standards and policy and ensure that they are understood and applied appropriately at site level and deliver legal compliance. Support the learning and development of the site production teams through the provision of coaching and mentoring to ensure that they are fully equipped to deliver their objectives. Lead site based mechanical RCA and defect elimination initiatives to minimise production downtime. Provide support across our partner sites where you have specific expertise and experience. Demonstrate the highest personal health and safety standards at all times and work effectively with other team members to carry out the tasks safely and effectively. Extensive engineering experience within heavy industrial industry. Welding Inspector/ Supervisor will have the following qualifications and experience: Qualifications: Chartered Mechanical Engineer or a Mechanical Apprenticeship with extensive equivalent experience. Expertise: A strong understanding of coded welding on pressure systems, particularly for modifications and repairs, is highly advantageous. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage large teams, including contractors.
