Overview: We’re seeking a dedicated Maintenance & Facilities Technician to take charge of day-to-day maintenance across multiple sites in West Sussex. The ideal candidate will bring a practical, hands-on approach to maintaining essential systems—from HVAC and generators to plumbing and minor electrical repairs. A key requirement for this role is having your own transport and a valid driving licence. Key Responsibilities: Routine Maintenance & Safety: Execute in-house PPM tasks on critical equipment (generators, compressors, air conditioning, air quality systems). Carry out comprehensive monthly safety checks (fire safety equipment, emergency systems, etc.). General Repairs & Upkeep: Work with the Facilities Manager to repair and maintain building systems (e.g., plumbing, electrical, painting, tiling). Oversee the Facilities Service Request Log, coordinating tasks with department managers and external contractors. Operational Oversight: Monitor contractor activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and providing guidance as necessary. Keep track of equipment, parts, and service logs, ordering supplies via our purchasing system. Emergency & Project Response: Act swiftly to address emergencies (e.g., leaks, outages) and arrange contractor support when required. Contribute to larger facilities projects alongside the Facilities Manager and other teams. Requirements: Demonstrable experience in facilities maintenance, particularly with plumbing and electrical systems. Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to decision-making under pressure. Excellent communication and IT skills (MS Office proficiency). Ability to work physically, including lifting, working at heights, and performing manual tasks. Essential: Must have a valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle
