Responsibilities Performing a variety of development trials for R&D Region and Global Function teams through operation of a wide range of Process and Packaging equipment. Assembly, operation and cleaning of the equipment using tools, ensuring safety, hygiene and operational effectiveness at all times and support Function teams and trials with in depth equipment and process knowledge and aid in fault finding and solution creation. Main accountabilities: Assembly, operation, adjustment and cleaning of a wide variety of process equipment using tools as required. Equipment includes: Hybrid baking line, Pellet line, Stax line, Bagging machines, Bench extruder, Seasoning systems, Granola Systems Effective operation of the equipment to deliver trial goals by making adjustment to process conditions, providing timely feedback to project team leads. Completion of maintenance tasks in support of the site maintenance plan Coordination of agency staff as required Use of remote video monitoring equipment to enable trials to be viewed at remote locations Use of data acquisition software and some results interpretation and analysis to aid/guide results. Ensuring H&S and food safety standards are met at all times Participate in GPC tasks including: auditing, safety/food safety teams, stock control, training others, LEAN activities, equipment/line /process design consultation or other related projects. On occasion Fork Lift Truck activity including waste removal, raw materials collection and general warehouse activities (Training given) Without reference to Manager: Making adjustments to process equipment to achieve desired trial outputs Management of trials to achieve desired results with direction from GPC Coordinators Generating work orders on CMMS for equipment repairs Raising near misses for food safety and H&S concerns Personal time management around trials With reference to Manager: Changes to working practices / standard operating procedures Changes to working hours / days High level of flexibility with tasks/areas of work / type of work Proactive escalation of issues which cannot be resolved by themselves Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing environment or operating equipment in an autonomous role Mechanical and engineering aptitude and appreciation. High ownership of results and work standards. (Technical, Safety, Food Safety) Can work unsupervised and manage own work requirements Good analytical, numerical and reading skills Strong Team worker and contributor A self-starter that is flexible, with a ‘can do,’ attitude to role and duties Results driven and understands the link between action & results Bias for action A confident communicator with individuals at all levels Organised and methodical Conscientious and results focussed Flexible and proactive with the ability to solve basic problems/trouble shoot processes Able to work under pressure Attention to detail Qualifications: Functional Skills qualification in English & Mathematics to Level 1 or GCSE or iGCSE qualification in English & Mathematics to at least grade D (Level 1 equivalent); or Key Skills qualification in Literacy & Application of Number to either Level 1 or O’ Level qualification in English Language and/or Literature and an O’Level qualification in Mathematics to at least grade C.
