University Centre Peterborough is seeking a dynamic and dedicated HE Curriculum Leader to lead our Media Production and Journalism programmes. About the Role:
As our HE Curriculum Leader for Media Production and Journalism, you will be the driving force behind our programmes' success. You will be responsible for:
• Curriculum Leadership: Overseeing the day-to-day operation, quality, and development of our media and journalism programmes, including proposing new courses and revising existing ones.
• Student Experience: Proactively enhancing the student experience and acting as the first point of contact for student queries.
• Assessment & Quality: Leading the moderation of assessments and ensuring adherence to awarding body requirements.
• Student Recruitment: Meeting recruitment targets by engaging in interviews, open days, and outreach activities.
• Team Management: Planning staff timetables, providing cover for absences, and fostering a positive team environment.
• Quality Assurance: Monitoring key performance indicators, completing annual monitoring reports, and contributing to quality improvement processes.
• Teaching & Learning: Delivering high-quality teaching, developing engaging resources, and championing innovative use of technology.
Who We're Looking For:
We're seeking a highly motivated individual with:
• A degree or professional industry qualifications in a relevant subject area. A Level 7 Masters qualification or working towards one is required for Level 6 supervisions.
• Significant industry/commercial experience in the media and journalism field.
• Proven teaching experience and a commitment to student success.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and team-working skills.
• A passion for media production and journalism and a desire to share that passion with students.
• A Level 3 teaching/training qualification (e.g., PTLLS) or a commitment to working towards one. Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g., DTTLS, Diploma in Education and Training, Cert Ed, or PGCE) is desirable.
