Senior Platform Engineer (Network)
Looking for a Senior Platform Engineer with experience in Cloud Networking, DevOps & automation. This is for a well-established team that has migrated several products from on-prem to AWS cloud. The client seeks experience in cloud networking and secure networks to facilitate tighter integration with clients.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a Platform Engineering team and play a key role in evolving our secure and highly available infrastructure to support the business through an exciting growth period. You will be responsible for building and managing enterprise-grade Hybrid cloud environments, working closely with Application engineering teams to deploy resilient, secure, scalable, and maintainable AWS infrastructure to support new products and continual improvement of the engineering platform and tooling for rapid and safe development cycles.
This role would suit a strong DevOps / Infrastructure / Network engineer who is passionate about automation, reliability, performance, and security. Excellent knowledge of AWS cloud and infrastructure automation, including:
1. Infrastructure and configuration as code tooling, e.g. Terraform, Ansible
2. Automation, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code. Build automation and pipeline CI/CD tools e.g. Jenkins, Gitlab
3. Containerisation and container orchestration technologies e.g. Docker, ECS, K8S
4. Data storage & persistence services (RDS, S3, DynamoDB, EBS etc)
5. AWS access permissions model, security groups, IAM policies
6. Cloud networking, routing and traffic management (ALB, R53, VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect etc)
7. Key and Certificate setup and management
8. Cloud security tooling
9. Experience of managing message queue technologies (esp. IBM MQ) advantageous
The security, reliability, and resilience of services are paramount. An understanding of resilient and secure network design in the cloud is essential.
This position is with a well-established Fintech client operating in a fast-paced high-growth environment. This role would suit a real team player, someone who can collaborate with other developers and across the business. You will implement DevOps technologies and processes, e.g. containerisation, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and increase automation and standardisation to reduce administrative overhead. Advanced knowledge in cloud technologies is required when working with existing and new products.
