About the role:
1. Managing a dedicated telephone support line.
2. Contacting an individual who has been referred within 3 working days.
3. Engaging and maintaining engagement with service users.
4. Assessment of individual risk and need including the use of AUDIT and SADQ tools.
5. Delivering a range of appropriate interventions such as:
• Identification and Brief Advice 2
• Extended Brief Interventions
• Harm reduction Interventions and support into more structured treatment for those with identified high risk or alcohol dependence.
• Evidence based tools such as drink diaries
6. Delivering lapse and relapse prevention support.
About you:
7. Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
8. Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics, such as conflict or challenging behaviour.
9. Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
10. Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
11. Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
12. Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
13. Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
14. Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
15. Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
