Job Title: Finance Assistant
Reporting to: Finance Controller
Location: Hybrid - Dartington, Devon (some expectation to travel to our Dartington office)
Salary: £25,000 pa
Bonus: Up to 10% bonus

What will you do?
Here are a few of the key responsibilities for the role:
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records, including journals, ledgers, and balance sheets.
* Assisting with month-end and year-end financial reporting, including preparing accruals and prepayments.
* Support the finance team with day-to-day operations.
* Maintain and reconcile ledgers, including balance sheet accounts and intercompany.
* Set up payments for purchasing and payroll.
* Collaborate with external auditors and support the year-end audit process.
* Continuously improve and streamline accounting processes.
* Responsible for weekly finance reporting and other weekly control tasks.
* Support with annual and ad hoc rate changes.
* Provide finance support for bids and tenders, including pricing schedules and rate analysis.
* Manage and maintain charge and pay rates in Newcross’s systems.
* Support business planning with financial analysis and modelling.
* Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc tasks as required.

* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to take on new challenges.
* Timely and accurate completion of all deadline-driven deliverables, such as monthly management packs, statutory accounts etc.
* Compliance with procedures and contributions to process improvements.
* Relevant experience in a similar role, or as an assistant looking for the next step in their career.
* Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

This role may include study support for AAT or other relevant qualifications.
