Process Technician
Primary Responsibilities:
The Process Technician will provide daily technique support for production and also help engineers carry out process improvement projects in their defined area of ownership; maintain processing/working standard, monitor process performance, and maintain efficient manufacturing workflow.
Process Ownership:
Vacuum coating, Optical Cleaning & Handling, Optical polishing, Optical Measurement.
* Process performance monitoring and production support.
* Maintain workmanship standards and ensure they are followed.
* Maintain process documentation covering steady state production and recovery methods for dealing with out-of-limit or out-of-specification situations.
* Provide specialist assistance on production issues.
* Helping and monitoring engineering experiments.
* Monitoring process limits and control measures.
* First call on troubleshooting out-of-control and out-of-specification process issues.
* Support engineers in resolving process performance issues.
* Work with maintenance engineers to understand limitations on process capability and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Help with research & development projects.
Required Experience, Qualification and Skills:
* Strong problem-solving abilities.
* Hands-on skills in operating processing equipment.
* Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES) or manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems would be an advantage, though full training will be provided.
Personal Attributes:
* A self-motivated, self-starting technique specialist with the ability to plan and prioritize own work within a guidance framework provided.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Continuous Learner – a willingness to research and fill knowledge gaps as necessary.
* Competent computer user (including the use of Microsoft Office).
