About the Role:
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you'll support students facing mental health challenges, helping them navigate their education. Collaborating with teachers and families, you'll create a nurturing environment that addresses each student's emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored assistance to students with complex needs related to mental health, anxiety, and behaviour, ensuring effective implementation of their EHCPs.
Work alongside teaching staff to develop an inclusive and engaging curriculum that addresses mental health and behavioural challenges across various subjects, including outdoor education.
Create a nurturing learning atmosphere that promotes social, emotional, and mental well-being, specifically targeting anxiety and behavioural issues.
Dispense medications in accordance with school policy and specialist techniques, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Provide intimate and personal care, including hygiene and bathing, while maintaining the highest standards of dignity and respect.
Encourage and enable students to achieve a high level of independence in daily activities.
Under the direction of the class teacher, support students in engaging in classroom activities to their fullest potential, employing appropriate total communication techniques.

All students of the SEMH setting will have an EHCP, emphasising the personalised approach to their education.
