Maintenance Worker
Queensbury Union Free School District is recruiting for a full-time Maintenance Worker. HVAC experience preferred.
Minimum Requirement: High School diploma or GED and a broad base of facility maintenance skills such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or general maintenance.
Salary $18.14- $24.00 / hour, actual salary based on experience.

Job Duties/Responsibilities Summary:
Maintenance Worker (12 mo. position)
Civil Service Classification: Non-competitive
Department: Buildings & Grounds
SUMMARY: Performs routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on buildings, mechanical equipment, commercial equipment, institutional equipment, and utility systems. Supports the district's buildings and campus assets to assure a safe, efficient, effective, comfortable environment that is supportive of district goals and objectives. Note: This is not a comprehensive list of all requirements, but a listing of general job duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, lighting, and flooring;
* Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis;
* Inspects heating/cooling and domestic water systems for proper operation;
* Calibrates and repairs pneumatic systems;
* Replaces broken windows and repairs doors;
* Completes daily, weekly, and monthly safety-related repairs;
* Uses computerized work order system for managing service/repair details;
* Operates various brands of BMS systems;
* Installs electrical wiring and equipment;
* Troubleshoots and repairs electrical equipment;
* Installs and maintains security devices;
* Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs institutional equipment;
* Responds to emergency maintenance requests;
* Assists with renovation/remodeling of buildings;
* Maintains records & processes receipts as required;
* Performs outside duties such as snow removal;
* Maintains a current CDL license and operates mobile campus vehicles;
* Uses computers and various software programs as required;
* May play a role in the District’s emergency response plans;
* Utilizes schematics, drawings, and specification documents;
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Good knowledge of building and general maintenance and repair practices; mechanical aptitude; good physical condition; dependability; manual dexterity.
ACCEPTABLE TRAINING: Two years of experience in general building maintenance, heavy construction, or in one or more of the standard trades, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.
