Siemens has established first UK based Rail Industry Hub on the outskirts of Goole in the East Riding of Yorkshire. With an initial contract to assemble nearly 80 trains to service the Piccadilly line on the London Underground we are starting to recruit over 300 skilled technical and support colleagues in our Manufacturing Facility. Looking ahead, we anticipate substantial growth in our operations, with follow-on projects expected to increase the number of trains assembled into the hundreds. Moreover, we plan to expand our site to incorporate maintenance and overhaul activities, demonstrating our long-term commitment to the region and our dedication to encouraging employment and career opportunities. We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team in Goole. The successful candidate will assist with in-process tests and inspections, including hardness, weight, variations, and failure testing, to ensure batches meet specifications. They will check materials against drawings, standards, specifications, and norms, and follow defined routines to safeguard quality criteria. The role involves monitoring corrective actions initiated by QA, documenting results in the systems, and initiating rework in accordance with SQA guidelines You’ll make an impact by Reports on stated failures and initiates actions such as NCR Reporting. Communicates with suppliers in case of quality problems and processes/sends non-conformity reports. Operates on-site in inbound logistics or production sites and cooperates with staff in Quality, Logistics, and Production. Acts as the contact person for SQA and order supervisor regarding QA activities in the plant. Ensures detected deviations in materials are systematically recorded, evaluated, corrected, and that corrective and preventive measures are defined with specialist departments. Manages restricted zone inspections and undertakes 4D/8D where applicable.
