Our Water Response teams carry out over 20,000 repairs every year to Scotlandâs water network. From burst mains to valve maintenance and lead pipe replacements, the team plays a vital role in keeping Scotlandâs water flowing. Sound good? Weâre looking for an Operations Team Coach to join our team, working in the Inverness and Dornoch areas. What youâll be doing As Operations Team Coach, youâll be right at the heart of it all, supporting the Team Leader and driving the teamâs success. Youâll oversee work scheduling and resource allocation, making sure repairs are completed safely, on time and in full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Youâll lead the way in delivering great customer service. Whether itâs managing customer queries, handling escalations, or resolving service issues, youâll work to keep service disruptions to a minimum whilst make sure weâre providing the reliable services our customers count on. Youâll set the tone for the team, leading by example as a role model and mentor. Through My Story - our approach to performance and development - youâll help your team grow, achieve their objectives, and complete learning plans. And you wonât just focus on today â youâre also looking ahead to see how we can do things better. With a sharp eye for efficiency, youâll identify areas for improvement, tackle inefficiencies, and lead change initiatives that help the team thrive. What youâll need: Youâll bring hands-on experience in field operations, ideally within the water or utilities sector, and youâll know all about the best ways to approach our repairs whilst putting health and safety at the forefront of everything we do. Whether itâs using works management tools like Salesforce, analysing data, or working with Microsoft Office, youâre confident with technology and know how to turn information into actionable insights. As a natural leader, you have a talent for bringing out the best in others. Building strong relationships comes easily, and youâve lead team before and understand what it takes to manage people effectively. Communication is key â whether itâs chatting face-to-face, firing off emails or leading a team meeting, you know how to keep everyone engaged and in the loop. A full, clean driving licence is non-negotiable, as youâll need to travel around sites in the Inverness and Dornoch areas, but weâll provide the wheels. Youâll take your turn on the standby rota for out-of-hours work too. A few ânice to havesâ: it would be ideal if you have experience with HGVs or 180/360 excavators. And experience using cable avoidance tools would be good. As would an understanding of health and safety principles for site working or skills in basic ground maintenance. Holding a CPCS or NSRWA qualification would be great, but itâs not a must-have. What youâll get While the work we do is important, we know itâs not the only thing that matters. The not-so-small print This role will be a Grade 6. If youâre new to Scottish Water, youâll join us on a starting salary of £33,560. Performance-driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of £44,140.
