Clinical Lead Specialist for Musculoskeletal Podiatry
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical Lead Specialist for Musculoskeletal Podiatry, 0.8 wte (30 hours) to provide high-level musculoskeletal and biomechanical support to our Podiatry team.
The post holder will act as a clinical specialist for podiatric biomechanics throughout the Podiatry Service. You will lead and educate your colleagues and junior staff regarding biomechanical and musculoskeletal (MSK) interventions, theories, and Podiatry treatment plans, being the main contact for this area of clinical specialism.
You will be an experienced practitioner, aware of the full scope of clinical practice, and expected to support and supervise colleagues and team members. The post holder must be highly motivated, able to work independently, and show initiative in managing both the clinical caseload and contributing to staff education and service development.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will act as a clinical specialist for Podiatric Biomechanics within Berkshire Healthcare Podiatry Service.
You will provide highly specialised advice to patients and be a point of contact for colleagues relating to Biomechanics and the importance of foot function for people affected by MSK injury, dysfunction, or disease.
The post holder will also be expected to provide cover to high-risk, wound care, and nail surgery clinics as necessary based on the demand of the service.
To take part in the strategic development of the podiatry service in relation to podiatric clinical biomechanics.

Job Responsibilities
The must-haves for you to be considered for this role:
* Degree level qualification in podiatry (or equivalent) & Registration with the HCPC as a podiatrist
* Local anaesthetic certificate
* Car driver & possess full UK driver's license or evidence of ability to travel to designated base & other sites; ability to travel independently between multiple sites to fulfil the requirements of the position

* HPC Registered Podiatrist (DPodM or BSc)
* Local Anaesthetic Certificate
* IT Training
* Motivational interview training
Previous Experience
* At least 3 years' experience at a senior level
* Experience of supervising and managing less experienced staff
* Experienced in the provision of high-risk treatments and diabetic assessments
* Working independently as a team member
* Working as part of a team
* Awareness of current NHS trends and policies, including clinical governance and NSF's
