ASD Teaching Assistant - Blackburn - January start
Prospero Teaching are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a school in Blackburn, on a full time basis. The role will start after the Christmas break and will continue for the remainder of the current academic year, until July.
The organisation caters for students of secondary age 11 - 16 .and the students who attend here have Autism, SEMH and/or speech and language difficulties. Most of the students also have an EHCP. The students will need support in engaging with their specialised provision. You will need to be able to build strong relationships with the students you work with and have a passion for supporting those with special needs.
The ideal candidate:
A recent graduate who wants work experience within Special Educational Needs
Experience of supporting students with additional needs in particular Autism
Experience with sensory or physical impairments
Experience of supporting those with complex needs in a care setting
Strong teamwork ethic
Driven, energetic and keen to pursue a career in education and special needs
reliable, consistent and caring
The role will consist of:
Providing tailored support and working with children with SEN and complex needs
Creating a safe environment that allows children and other students have fun, learn and succeed

Minimum daily rate 85 per day
Full time Monday Friday 8.30am - 3:30pm
Start date - January 2025
End Date- July 2025
To be considered for this role, you will have to register with Prospero Teaching and complete a Child & Adult DBS which is on the update service, unless you already have one.
Safeguarding training issued in the last 12 months (essential)
Prevent Awareness & FGM training issued in the last 3 years (essential)
Behaviour management training (desirable, but training can be provided)
