Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust Volunteering Roles
This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.
Do you have some spare time and feel like you would like to help and make a difference to patients at our Trust? Becoming a volunteer at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford can be hugely rewarding, helping to build friendships, confidence, alleviating loneliness and helping with employability.
Volunteering Roles include:
1. Ward volunteer: Enhance our patients' experience and make their time in hospital as comfortable as possible by supporting our health care staff on a ward with a variety of non-clinical duties. You may be chatting to patients, running errands for health care assistants or assisting the housekeeper with drinks and meals.
2. Feeding Buddy: A very rewarding role where you'll support patients who require encouragement to eat or assistance with feeding.
3. Helpdesk Volunteer: Our Help Desk Volunteers provide a warm and welcoming face to patients and visitors to the hospital. They also offer practical support, information and directions to patients that enter the Hospital.
4. Appointment Reminder Volunteer: Help us prevent appointment DNAs! (Did Not Attend) by volunteering as an appointment reminder volunteer. This is an administrative role where you'll be telephoning patients to remind them of their upcoming appointments.
