Clerical Officer - Health Records - Band 2
These posts are based at Louth Hospital.
Working within our busy environment, you will carry out Health Records duties as part of the Choice & Access team, assisting in the daily provision of a professional health records service ensuring patients, relatives, and visitors receive the best possible service. The role will involve the filing, locating, retrieval, and preparation of patient case notes, to ensure that national waiting times are adhered to. Advising patients, staff, and relatives by telephone and dealing with their inquiries is also a key part of this role. The role will also include the need to cover reception areas when required.
Main duties of the job
Applicants must have clerical experience and have worked with the public in a customer care position. Applicants should have 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) Grade C or above including Maths and English or an NVQ2 in the relevant subjects (or equivalent) e.g. customer care or administration. Knowledge and experience of NHS targets is essential as is the ability to work to tight deadlines. The successful candidate will be able to work as an individual and as part of a team having the ability to be flexible, being able to prioritise and organise work in order to meet tight deadlines whilst being able to adapt to the changing needs of the service. It is essential to be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, together with accuracy and attention to detail whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times. Good data entry/keyboard skills are desirable together with a basic understanding of medical terminology. ECDL or CLAIT (or equivalent qualification) is also desirable.

Previous Experience
* Experience of working in an Office environment

Qualifications
* Good standard of education with at least 5 GCSEs (grade C or above) or equivalent, including English and Maths or an NVQ2 or equivalent in relevant subject, i.e. Customer Care Skills
* Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
* CLAIT or European Computer Driving Licence.
* Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology.
