Salary: £32,020 to £46,549 per annum.
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week. Flexible working to suit you.
Contract Length: Permanent and Fixed-term.
Location: Multiple locations across West Sussex with hybrid working opportunities.

As a Civil Engineer with WSCC, you will be involved in several activities including:
7. Planning and organising inspections.
8. Ensuring the safe delivery of inspections using WSCCs Framework providers for provision of access equipment and traffic management.
9. Providing excellent communication and support to our Customer Service Hub.
10. Dealing with complex issues within the service area.
11. Undertaking investigate works to understand how networks operate, including site visits to determine connectivity and undertaking or managing level surveys.
12. Analysing and interpreting a range of varied and complex data to prepare detailed reports and make recommendations on a range of activities within the service.
13. Responsibility for large budgets including contributing to the monitoring of relevant specialist/service contracts, expenditure, and budgets.
This role would suit people who have:
14. BTEC HNC level or degree, Chartered Engineer, Incorporated Engineer or post graduate qualification within the specialist area or equivalent qualification or experience demonstrating that level of advanced applied knowledge in researching, analysing and evaluating arguments and information.
15. Computer skills
16. Knowledge of relevant highways and transportation standards and procedures, including a broad understanding of civil engineering design and construction procedures, techniques, and statutory procedures.
17. Experience of delivering a high-quality maintenance and repair service within a Highways context, meeting objectives and indicators, and dealing with safety issues in a prompt, prioritised and appropriate manner.
18. Experience of managing and monitoring budgets or projects for a specific service within a specialist, technical service.
19. Full current driver’s licence to carry out driven inspections or attend meetings which are across the county.
