Cambridge Community House – Te Whare Manaaki Tangata - is a well-established and trusted organisation in Leamington, Cambridge, providing a range of social services to individuals and whānau. The Cambridge Community House is a unique social services provider, providing confidential services with professional and qualified staff in a safe and whānau-friendly environment.
We are seeking an exceptional Whānau Support Worker to become a valuable member of our caring and dynamic team in Cambridge. In this role, you will provide support and advocacy to individuals and whānau, assess their needs, and collaborate with them to access the necessary supports, whether through our professional teams at the Community House or in partnership with external agencies. This office-based position offers diversity, ensuring no two days are the same. This is a busy role, where you will be working alongside multiple whānau each day.
Successful candidates will have:
* Understanding of Family Harm in the NZ context
* Empathy to peoples’ needs
* The ability to problem solve and be flexible
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Knowledge of the New Zealand Work & Income benefit system
* An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tikanga and knowledge of te reo Māori
* Experience in working with a diverse range of people
* Skills and ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* The ability to be self-directed, meet deadlines and maintain strict confidentiality
* Permanent right to work in New Zealand
