Pertemps Daventry are currently recruiting for one of our established clients based in Daventry for a Head of Transport & Logistics. Head of Transport & Logistics As a Transport & Logistics Manager, this senior role, will coordinate all out transport processes with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all appropriate standards are met within legislation, compliance & H&S. Ensure that cost and efficiency is maximised and contribute to the execution of capital development projects. Working with a team of Drivers and Planners, you will creation a cohesive working environment to sustain a high performance and positive culture. Key Responsibilities Responsible for the profit/loss of the metals transport business Manage resource to enable the department to deliver on KPI’s in a cost-effective manner and hit SLA targets. Develop logistics strategy by analysing logistical problems and producing new solutions. Support operations teams country-wide in all aspects of logistics including the selection and management of contractors and third party service providers. Ensure the fleet operates within transports legal and regulatory standards Provide clear direction, motivation, and leadership to the team by creating a positive and collaborative culture in line with our values. Monitor the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods. Create and maintain a high-performing culture within the driver network. Analysing data to monitor performance and plan improvements. Responsible for managing the Driver trainers effectively to ensure all drivers are compliant and up to date with training. Liaising and negotiating with customers and suppliers. Deliver KPIs designed to enhance the supply chain processes and operational effectiveness.Key Skills/Competencies Exceptional organisational skills Strong people management skills is essential Excellent interpersonal skills Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable Integrity and confidentiality Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong team building ability and motivational qualities.
