To carry out assessment of patients as an autonomous practitioner including complex or chronic presentations, using advanced clinical reasoning skills and integrating specialist knowledge of evidenced based practice. To determine and modify care plans utilising a wide range of advanced treatment skills and specialist techniques. Clinical-Specific to Clinical Lead To provide a high quality Physiotherapy service using a wide range of clinical work practices that requires significant specialist knowledge and advanced clinical skills gained from experiential learning, specialist training, use of Physiotherapy evidenced based practice and NICE guidelines. To ensure the effective exchange of information across the team and co-ordination of local service delivery. Working with Physiotherapy Services Manager, to be responsible for Clinical Governance objectives within the specialism. As a specialist and independent practitioner to provide, highly complex advice and specialist treatment for simple and complex conditions and to formulate individualised clinical management programme. Use of advanced clinical reasoning skills and in depth analysis of problems gained from clinical and theoretical experience, and to interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical facts to form accurate working diagnoses and prognoses for a wide range of highly complex conditions and to refer onwards for further investigation where appropriate. To communicate complex and sensitive clinical and managerial information to patients and carers, colleagues and external Agencies using written and verbal reports. To ensure the service is run efficiently and effectively with regard to clinical priorities, best practice and best use of time within the specialism and to report any deficiencies to the PSM for action. Organisation Ensure working in a safe and environmentally friendly department. To have day to day responsibility of the specialism ensuring well being of staff, Objective setting, training, supervision and appropriate cover during annual leave. To plan and organise clinical activity with appropriate time scheduling in order to complete all clinical and administrative duties including statistical record keeping. Ensure compliance with professional duties as a Physiotherapist in the administration of the patient caseload and ensuring appointment diary slots are maximised. Report any equipment defects, accidents, complaints or potential risk to PSM for action. In discussion with the PSM to implement GHA organisational and departmental policies and to be involved in reviewing and updating as appropriate. To ensure appropriate management time is allocated to support the teaching and supervision of staff and ensure the development of the specialism. To manage waiting lists within specialism and ensure prioritisation of the most urgent or vulnerable patients and to flag up when there are related risk issues that need to be managed by the PSM.
