As part of this change, we are looking for an Integration Engineer to join our Innovation and Development team within IT and help us deliver our ambitious digital transformation agenda. This role is key to helping drive value for the business and our customers by connecting our systems through integration.
As an experienced Integration Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing integration solutions that connect our systems, data, and processes. You should have experience of developing integrations using Apigee and Azure Logic Apps, which helps us keep our stack simple. You will also help us follow the best practices and standards for integration development and security. As we build out our foundations, the three key tenets of predictability, security, and sustainability will continue to inform our work.
This role is based in our Trowbridge Head office, with remote working available for up to 2 days.
Responsibilities
* Design and develop scalable, performant, cost effective and secure integration solutions.
* Audit and improve the security, performance, reliability and scalability of the existing integration estate.
* Help us define, implement and embed integration standards and best practices, driving integration maturity forward.
* Work with third parties to improve delivery, quality and cost-effectiveness of integration solutions.
* Lead and mentor other integration engineers and developers.
* Create a re-usable integration catalogue which simplifies and improves pace of future delivery.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, and other members of the IT team to understand and deliver integration requirements.
About you
Essential skills & experience:
* Knowledge of integration patterns, standards and best practices.
* Experience in designing, developing and testing integration solutions ideally using Apigee and Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, Function Apps, Event Hubs, etc.).
* Experience with RESTful APIs.
* Experience with API Management platforms.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Self-motivated and proactive learner.
Desirable:
* Awareness of modern development tools and processes, such as deployment pipelines, Git, CI/CD.
* Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues.
* A demonstrable awareness of the wider integration technology landscape.
* Experience with application performance monitoring tooling ideally Application Insights or NewRelic.
