We are looking for a permanent full-time team manager with great people and organisational skills to be the team manager for the older adults Crisis Team based in Knaresborough. This is a stable, supportive, and experienced team of clinicians with a dedicated consultant. The team operates between 8am-8pm seven days a week, providing high-quality care to support patients and carers experiencing crisis or following discharge from hospital.
This is a new dedicated team manager post for the Older Person's Crisis Team based at Knaresborough and will provide a great opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills within this supportive service. We encourage applicants from a health or social care background, who have a passion for improving the lives of older people with mental health needs and can build positive relationships with others.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities will be to ensure people experience timely access to our service and receive treatment in line with our pathways and feel listened to and involved in their care. The post holder will provide effective operational management and leadership including supervision and appraisals, recruitment, managing performance and a budget, along with all other aspects of management. The successful person will be able to manage varied work demands.
Whilst the main responsibilities of this post will be in operational management, there will also be some opportunities to provide direct patient care and role model good clinical practice. You will be supported in your own development with regular supervision and access to coaching and training, as well as opportunities to be involved in service improvement initiatives.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work or relevant professional clinical qualification (ie PWP/CWP in IAPT/Getting Help services)
* Be Educated to Master's level in leadership or a subject area relevant to the area of practice OR
* Have equivalent clinical experience to that of master's level such as working as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area with significant experience - which also includes significant experience of managing people, together with evidence of CPD
* Be trained in Clinical Supervision and Providing Clinical Supervision
* Be a Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor
Experience
* Significant experience of managing people
* Significant experience of working with patients with complex needs in the specialist field and working with patients who display risk behaviours
* Working collaboratively with others (external partners, staff service users and their families/carers)
* Working knowledge of the legal framework and statutory obligations under the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and other relevant legislation
* Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice
* Risk assessment and management and its application in practice and Working knowledge of clinical medicines management
* Evidence of training in Quality Improvement methodology or coaching
Knowledge
* Significant evidenced based knowledge, to post-graduate level, of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field
* Detailed understanding of Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
Skills
* Provide effective leadership
* Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, carers/families, and all members of the team
* Work positively and collaboratively in partnership with external agencies
