Our Client is one of the county Councils who are moving forward with innovation, and they have a group of Engineers who work not only for the council but other local Authorities, so the work is varied and continuous.
They are looking for a Street Lighting Engineer to assist in the Design and Management of the Street Lighting PFI to deliver the project and to ensure the Client's objectives are met.
Responsibilities include:
1. Assist in the performance management of the contract to ensure the successful delivery of the street lighting PFI project and to ensure that the client's objectives are met.
2. Assist with the monitoring of the contract. Carry out surveys, site measurements, and post works checks.
3. Ensure that the works are completed in accordance with agreed plans and specifications.
4. Preparation of progress reports.
5. Maintain contract records and deal with enquiries from relevant sources.
6. Manage the implementation of supplementary works to the contract.
7. Provide technical support and advice on all aspects of public lighting.
Requirements:
1. HNC Electrical Engineering or equivalent electrical qualification.
2. Incorporated Engineer or equivalent membership with a professional body.
3. Broad experience in the design and management of street lighting maintenance projects.
4. Detailed knowledge of street lighting design practice, regulation, and maintenance strategy as well as Health & Safety and highway regulations as applicable.
5. Demonstration of communication skills and IT literate.
6. Ability to manage projects and resources to programme and cost with minimal supervision from management.
7. Must be able to fulfil the mobility requirements of the role.
8. Meeting IPP targets.
9. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
