We are looking for an experienced MEP Construction Manager to work on one of our data centre projects in the London area. What the role will look like:
The Construction Manager will lead the delivery of the complete mechanical and electrical works on site, overseeing both self-delivery and sub-contracted elements. They will review the installation drawings, develop, and own the second take-off and associated labour hours, and oversee and drive the supervisors to deliver the complete installation.
Role responsibilities:
* Contribute to the achievement of Laing O'Rourke safety targets and zero tolerance of unsafe working practices and occurrences.
* Deliver the sub-project to the client within budget, Quality Assurance standards, on programme, and to stringent safety parameters.
* Work with the planning team to develop detailed and accurate short-term programmes of work.
* Manage the budget and delivery of the section of the project.
* Ensure adoption of innovative ideas from within the business and from the workforce.
* Plan the programming of day-to-day resource requirements and communicate these to the construction team.
* Interface with other construction managers and sections managers to share best practices and ensure effective resource utilisation.
* Monitor external changes to work plans and report the effect of change.
* Lead section meetings to review safety, quality, progress, and design.
* Ensure effective implementation of Laing O'Rourke project management systems and procedures.
* Chair safety committee meetings monthly, take minutes, distribute, and carry out all actions.
