SEND Teacher Job Type: Part-time (Monday - Wednesday) Location: Burnley Start Date: September 2025 Experience: Essential experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join our team in a mainstream school setting, specifically within the SEND Unit in Burnley. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. Day-to-day of the role: Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that cater to the needs of students with various learning disabilities within the SEND unit. Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment. Assess students' abilities, monitor their progress, and adapt lessons to meet their individual needs. Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and specialists to develop individualised education plans (IEPs) for students. Implement behavioural management techniques to foster a positive learning environment. Utilise specialised instructional strategies to enhance student learning and engagement. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as a SEND Teacher or similar role. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with special educational needs. Ability to create and adapt learning materials to suit individual needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, creativity, and dedication to student development. Relevant teaching qualification and SEN certification.
