A well-established engineering consultancy is looking for a Fire Risk Assessor to join their dedicated fire safety division. This role can be based at their Kent headquarters or London office, offering flexibility and a collaborative working environment.
As part of a specialist FRA team, the Fire Risk Assessor will not only conduct detailed fire risk assessments but also work closely with fire engineers and fire strategy specialists on joint projects.
The Fire Risk Assessor's Role
The Fire Risk Assessor will work across a variety of sectors, including education, commercial, and residential, completing between one and three FRAs per week. This is a highly technical position, best suited to someone with in-depth knowledge of British fire safety regulations and standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting detailed fire risk assessments across multiple building types
Reviewing fire strategies, pre-occupancy requirements, and occupancy calculations
Carrying out Regulation 38 reviews and construction phase FRAs
Collaborating with fire engineers and fire strategy teams on multidisciplinary projects
Producing comprehensive reports with clear recommendations for fire safety improvements
The Successful Fire Risk Assessor Will Have
A recognised fire risk assessment qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Fire, FPA, IFSM, IFE)
2+ years' experience in fire risk assessment within a similar organisation
