Occupational Therapist
Location: Oakleaf, The Cotswolds, Duston
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8.30 – 4.30 (part time would be considered)
Salary: £30k - £35k
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our Multi-professional therapy team, at the Oakleaf Group. You would be part of a dynamic and supportive team that includes Physiotherapy, Speech & Language therapy, Psychology and Nursing. The successful applicant should have a desire to develop their knowledge and skills in the field of brain injury rehabilitation. The role would ideally suit an Occupational Therapist, who has completed a rotational post, or someone who is seeking to specialise in neuro rehabilitation and would like to develop their clinical skills further in this specialist field.
The post holder will be expected to manage a caseload of male clients with brain injury and in conjunction with other members of the multi professional Therapy Team, form a comprehensive assessment of need and develop goal focused Occupational Therapy rehabilitation intervention plans. The post holder will be expected to provide direct Occupational Therapy intervention, as well as support and offer guidance on issues related to Occupational Therapy, such as activities of daily living, manual handling, equipment and meaningful activity.
The post will involve working as part of the Occupational Therapist service covering the service based at the Cotswolds, Duston, Northamptonshire. Typically, residents at the Cotswolds will have undergone a period of active rehabilitation and have reached a point where focus now is more about managing the progress they have made and ensuring that their quality of life is as full and meaningful as it can be. Programmes of care remain individualised and unique to their interests and also have access to the wider therapy team based at the main site in Hartwell.
The Oakleaf Group is a leading provider of specialist brain injury rehabilitation services for male and female adults. The Oakleaf Group currently operates across 5 sites in Northamptonshire, West Sussex and Suffolk, providing assessment and active rehabilitation, community rehabilitation houses and long stay/maintenance placements. We have a comprehensive team of nursing and therapy staff ensuring the rehabilitation is individualised and appropriate to the needs of each resident.
Person Specification:
* Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) is essential
* Experience of working with people with Neurological Conditions is essential.
* Previous experience of specific brain injury rehabilitation is desired.
* Degree in Occupational Therapy

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapy to develop their skills within a conscientious, hardworking and supportive team, allowing creativity within their work. The role requires the hours of Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. Weekend and Bank holiday working is not required. Part time hours would be considered.
