This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join a newly integrated health service for children in care. The service consists of a supportive multi-disciplinary team, which offers specialist physical and emotional health input to professionals, carers and care experienced children and young people (aged 0-18) in Gloucestershire.
We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate, enthusiastic and committed to delivering excellent and evidence based practice for our children in care, with experience of working with developmental trauma and complex emotional needs. You will be working alongside a supportive and compassionate team with opportunities for co-working, development and networking with other agencies.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide high quality and specialist profession based clinical reasoning, knowledge, skills and competencies regarding a range of therapeutic interventions.
2. Provide a range of specialist assessment and treatment interventions for children and young people (0-18yrs) in care who present with emotional and mental health difficulties, as well as those children and young people who have learning disabilities.
3. Provide specialist clinical consultation and advice to carers and professionals working within a range of children's services within Gloucestershire.
4. Provide clinical leadership within the team alongside undertaking clinical responsibility for a caseload involving complex and high-risk clinical formulation and decision making, adhering to risk management and care planning processes in line with Trust Policy and liaising with Trust and multi-agency partners across Gloucestershire as required.
5. Demonstrate enhanced competency regarding complex clinical decision making and clinical formulation. Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for assessment and case management through psychologically based care plans.

Job responsibilities
1. Deliver training to CYPS staff, social workers and carers.
2. Ensure high quality, accurate and contemporaneous clinical record keeping is maintained in line with current Trust policies.
3. Ensure regular attendance at service wide and other CPD/core competency training.
4. Provide specialist clinical interventions within a multidisciplinary team where expected roles, responsibilities and activity/performance expectations are outlined within a personal (team based) job plan.
5. Participate in the recruitment and selection of new staff, including overseeing local induction when required.

Qualifications
Essential
* Post Graduate Doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology, as accredited by the BPS (or equivalent level health-relevant Applied Psychology training, as accredited by the professional body).
* HCPC Registration.
Experience
Essential
* Demonstrate extensive experience and expertise regarding delivering evidence based/best practice clinical interventions within CAMHS or related services and/or adult mental health settings.
