Within HMRCs Chief Digital & Information Group (CDIO), specifically in the Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) team we are redefining and growing a team of outstanding people to improve its HMRC Cloud Centre of Excellence offering. We are already a diverse team of 80 individuals, creating a dynamic and inclusive working environment whose skills cover Architecture, Development, Service Design, Operation and Governance. This role is in our Platform Operations team which supports root cause analysis and troubleshooting of service health and performance issues and finds opportunities for improvement. Service Request fulfilment and delivery of Requests for Change (RFCs) are a key part of this role, as well as Incident and Problem resolution and event monitoring. Job description The successful individual will perform timely escalation of issues to the Product Operations Team Lead. They will investigate diagnose and resolve incidents and problems. Service request fulfilment is critical to the success of the Operations team and to deliver the Cloud solutions across HMRC. Part of this role is to create accurate reports and make recommendations to change availability plans or capacity thresholds to ensure Cloud services are optimised. Person specification The ideal candidate will be a customer focused engineer with a solid background within Service Operations. They will demonstrate good experience of managing and maintaining systems and services within a cloud centric service. You should be able to prioritise your own tasks and assignments whilst managing multiple streams of work from various locations. You should also be able to identify areas of internal improvement and drive these through to completion. You will be expected to travel to our Telford Office. Essential Criteria: The successful candidate will need to demonstrate practical experience in the following key areas: Essential Skills / Knowledge / Experience:- Experience in Incident resolution, Problem resolution, Service Request handling and Change Management. A good understanding of systems design and systems integration. An excellent technical knowledge in Cloud tooling and environments. An excellent knowledge of Linux operating systems and their use in Cloud environments. Management and maintenance experience of policy controlling appropriate technologies. Desirable Criteria: Any relevant cloud certifications, such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals. Familiarity with DevOps and Agile ways of working Basic understanding of tools such as Docker, Terraform, or CI/CD pipelines. ITIL v4 Foundation Certification Previous experience in an IT operations or IT Service Role, demonstrating an understanding of operational processes and best practices. ADZN1_UKTJ
