Job Description Summary As the Shift Production Leader, you will be responsible for leading associates in an engaged manner to achieve desired results in an assigned manufacturing unit. Lead day-to-day activities of the unit by coaching associates on a continuous improvement path in their daily manufacturing activities and efforts. Coach associates to be accountable for safety, quality, production, cost, housekeeping and overall policy adherence. Ensure that safety and quality standards are achieved while driving production performance to meet goals and schedules. Ensure compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. This is a night shift onsite role (11pm - 11am, 3 days on and 3 days off) offering a competitive salary plus a 48% shift premium. Responsible for staffing and training plans within the department. Provide regular, timely, and specific feedback to associates. Provide a learning environment and challenge associates to meet higher expectations. Implement BD Excellence components and programs within the manufacturing unit. Ensure an open flow of communication exists between production associates and management. Represent concerns of production associates to management, as well as management concerns to production associates. Ensure fair and consistent application of company and departmental policies and practices. Works with associates to resolve employee relations issues; involving HR when needed. Actively participate and support continuous improvement activities. Collaborate with Production Planning to establish production schedules, monitor performance versus schedule for the department. Track production metrics to ensure that department goals are being met and communicate these metrics and progress to associates and management. Lead daily production operations. Ensure manufactured products meet the established quality requirements. Meet or exceed operational objectives (i.e. safety, quality, production, cost, etc.). Effectively lead and develop others to aid in building a high performing production team. Other duties as required to support the needs of the business. About you: HNC or Degree level education in Engineer/Mechatronics or a similar field of study. 3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required. 3 year of demonstrated experience in a leadership position. Ability to work as part of a team and encourage effective team-building activities. Confident independent thinking and decision-making skills, ability to act quickly in high-pressure situations.
