The projects you will be working on will be broad-ranging and varied in size, giving you exposure to the principles of manufacturing engineering & technology and how a project environment operates.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
* Improving the digitalisation of the Clay Cross Manufacturing plant
* Assisting in I4.0 projects in different processes around the manufacturing site
* Participating in and leading Continuous Improvement Projects
* Supporting the launch of new products into the plant and changes to existing products
* Designing and implementing manufacturing execution systems (MES)
* Supporting the development of new manufacturing and assembly lines
* Maintaining a good balance of office work and being hands-on in a shop floor environment
* Problem solving on live issues on manufacturing lines to keep production going

Qualifications
Please note that to be eligible for this role, you must be an undergraduate student seeking a placement year as part of your degree - if you do not meet these criteria, please consider applying for other positions.
Must have:
* Good attitude to learning
* Computer literate including Microsoft 365
* Graduated in Bachelors or Masters in a STEM field or finishing studies in summer 2025
Would be nice to have:
* Team working experience
* Willingness to drive projects by themselves
* Some problem-solving experience
* Effective time management
* Understanding of lean manufacturing techniques; Just in Time, Waste elimination, Pull Systems

Working Hours: 39 hours a week; Mon – Thurs 07.00 - 16.00 and Fri 07.00 - 12.00 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
