About our school:
* Independent special school for pupils aged 7-16 who benefit from small group and individualised learning.
* West Yarner is situated on the outskirts of Dartington and is a base predominately for our primary age children (KS1/KS2). Seale Hayne Business Centre is our school site for our secondary age children.
* All children have individualised timetables with a range of enrichment activities, which are lined to their personalised targets within their EHCPs.
* There is a focus on social and emotional development and a motivational and progressive curriculum underpinned by the therapeutic principles of THRIVE.
* We require a Deputy Head for the West Yarner site, so you will be based here; however, you must be able to drive and have your own car due to offsite visits.

Main Purpose:
* To be accountable as the school’s leader for curriculum intent, implementation and impact

* To work alongside the Head Teacher to ensure that the school meets independent school standards
* To deputise for the Head Teacher in their absence
* To lead the school to have the characteristics to be judged as outstanding
* To ensure the school effectively safeguards each pupil
* To inspire confidence in, and act as a role model, to pupils and staff
* To provide unconditional care, nurture and support for each pupil

Salary: £39,300 to £45,150 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.
