Location: Wakefield, UK Salary: £35,000-£40,000 Benefits Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Hydraulic Operative to join a leading engineering company specializing in hydraulic systems and solutions. This role offers a mix of workshop-based assembly and testing as well as on-site servicing and repairs for a diverse range of hydraulic equipment. Key Responsibilities: Assemble and test hydraulic power units (HPUs) and other hydraulic equipment. Assist in pipe fitting and hose manufacture, flushing, and testing. Conduct stripping, assessment, and repair of hydraulic components. Support the installation of hydraulic systems on customer sites. Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and drawings. Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Maintain ISO9001/45001/14001 quality and safety standards. Travel to customer sites across the UK for servicing and repairs, sometimes at short notice. What We’re Looking For: Experience in hydraulic assembly, testing, and repair. Understanding of pumps, valves, cylinders, and pneumatic systems. Ability to interpret hydraulic schematic drawings. Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach. Customer-facing experience with a proactive and reliable attitude. Additional knowledge of fabrication, welding (TIG/MIG), and electrical control systems is advantageous but not essential.
