Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is offering the rare opportunity to combine a rewarding job in oncology with an unrivalled lifestyle in the heart of one of the most beautiful areas of the country.
This advert is seeking to recruit a Medical Oncologist who has a specialist interest in Gynaecological and Colorectal tumours.
As a department, we recognise that individual job satisfaction and achieving a healthy work/life balance is vital to maintaining a successful oncology team for the future, so please do come and look round and discuss how this role would suit you best. Consideration will be given to candidates wishing to work part-time and job share opportunities would also be considered.
We are seeking an individual with a particular interest in Gynaecological and Colorectal tumours.
We will work with you to create a job plan that suits your interests, expertise, and ambitions. We encourage a flexible approach to job planning for those who wish to work their week in a different way to suit their work-life balance.
You would be expected and encouraged to work with the existing oncologists to contribute to research, clinical governance, audit, training of junior staff and medical students, and undertake CME/CPD according to the requirements of your College.
The Trust is in the process of significant investment into oncology services, with service redesign to support a robust and resilient service moving forwards. The Oncology Department at Torbay Hospital is concentrated on one site and boasts a chemotherapy day unit (with a sea view), a suite of dedicated oncology outpatient rooms, and an 18-bed oncology/haematology ward.
You will be joining a committed and friendly team of 9 Clinical and 3 Medical Oncologists and 1 Specialist Doctor supported by 3 Specialty Doctors, 2 Clinical Fellow posts, and 3 registrars from the Peninsula Postgraduate School of Medicine. Combined with a team of experienced cancer nurse specialists and radiographers with independent clinics, we also have a successful cancer clinical trials team with a varied commercial and non-commercial portfolio.
